Initial logon procedure, Farmingdale High School

1. Turn on the computer.

If the computer is already on you must be at the “Enter Network Password” screen.

If you are not at the “Enter Network Password” screen:

Press the “Start” button, in the lower left-hand corner.

Select “Close all programs and logon as a different user?”

Select “Yes”

The next screen you will see will be the “Enter Network Password” screen.

2. At the “Enter Network Password” screen, type your personal information.

“Username” (use the tab key to advance to the password box.)

“Password” (*there is no password for the initial logon*)

“Domain” is fhs-dom

For example: “Username” 002034

“Password” no password for initial logon

“Domain” fhs-dom

3. After entering your personal logon information select “OK”.

4. The next screen you will see will be the “Microsoft Networking” window.

“Your password for fhs-dom has expired. You must specify a new one to logon.”

Select “OK”

The next screen will be the “Change Password” Window.

“Change password for Microsoft Networking.”

“Old password”

“New Password”

“Confirm new password”

The old password is left blank.

You choose and remember the new password.

You type the same password for the confirmation of the new password.

For example: “Old password” none

“New Password” axok113

“Confirm new password” axok113

The next screen will be the “Microsoft Windows” Window

* “The password has been successfully changed.”

Click “OK”

* YOU MUST SEE THIS SCREEN!!! or you have not logged on correctly *

Finally you will see the network logon script execute, and you are now logged onto the network.

The next screen that you will see is the “Set Windows Password” screen.

“Please confirm the password you entered. This will be your windows password.”

“New Password”

“Confirm New Password”

Type in your network password in the “Confirm new password” Space.

For example: “New Password” *******

“Confirm New Password” axok113

Your initial logon is complete.

You must logoff the computer properly or your information, and work, will be lost.

1. You must close the program that you are using.

2. When you are at the windows 95/98 main desktop:

Select the “Start” button,

Next select “Close all programs and logon as a different user?”

Next select “Yes”
