Bus Rules
All bus riders are responsible for insuring the safe travel of everyone on the bus. Misbehaviour which injures or affects the well-being of others also distracts the driver from the safe operation of the vehicle. Students are asked to adhere to the following rules:
-
Be at the bus stop on time. Drivers are not permitted to grant privileges, such as waiting for latecomers or making unauthorized stops.
-
Obey the driver at all times.
-
Sit down immediately and remain in your seat until the bus reaches its destination.
-
Keep hands, feet, arms, and heads inside the vehicle.
-
Do not be loud, boisterous, fight, or bother other passengers.
-
Do not throw objects either inside or out of the bus. Keep all belongings in a bookbag or backpack.
-
Do not deface or vandalize the bus in any way.
-
No weapons, live animals, large toys or objects, glass containers, sharp objects, or inflated balloons will be permitted on the buses at any time.
-
No eating, drinking, smoking, lighting of matches or fires, or use aerosol or pump sprays of any kind is permitted.
-
Abusive or profane language will not be tolerated.
-
Move away from the bus immediately upon leaving. Stay away from areas near the rear wheels and never cross behind the bus. Remain in vision of the driver.
-
If crossing the street, walk ahead of the vehicle to the point where you can see the driver. The driver will signal when it is safe to cross. IF THE BUS HORN SOUNDS, RETURN TO THE BUS IMMEDIATELY and wait again for the driver's signal to cross.
Instances of misbehavior will be reported by the drivers. A camcorder surveillance system has been installed in or buses, and the tapes will be used as evidence to support the drivers' reports. Serious misconduct or continued disregard of the above rules will result in suspension of transportation privileges. All dispositions of behavior reports will be handled by the school principal.
