The primary function of the School Counseling (Guidance) Department in the Farmingdale School District is to help each and every student find a learning environment that will maximize his or her potential. Certified School Counselors are available in our middle and high schools to help your child through interviews, consultations with teachers and parents, group guidance and small group counseling. Interviews may be concerned with educational, vocational, social or ethical guidance. An interview may be initiated by a student, parent, teacher, or counselor.

"The more exclusive the college, the more weight given to the essay than GPA"

Don’t wait until the fall of senior year to discover in the midst of a hectic schedule how vital these essays are and how difficult the process can be to set yourself apart from all the other applicants.

Spring is the best time to learn what is needed for the most important element of the college application process.

Farmingdale Schools are committed to personal, social and academic excellence. As a school community committed to the education of the whole child, we are working to reinforce specific core values and share them with all members of the school community. These values are the basis for all human relations within the school setting. We uphold the values by consistently maintaining standards of conduct and respect, and through celebrating their manifestation within the school and community.
