Carpentry students at Farmingdale High School recently completed a commissioned project for Sapphire Yacht Charters in Freeport. They built nearly two dozen rustic-wood lantern centerpieces, which now grace the tables of the fleet’s dinner cruise line. Projects like this are a win-win for all involved and provide students with real hands-on experience to practice their craft. All materials are paid for by the initiator of the project and the students provide the labor.
