  • The Farmingdale School Budget was approved by the voters!

    Farmingdale residents overwhelmingly approved the Farmingdale School District’s 2019-2020 budget. The $171,083,800 budget passed with 1,127 yes votes and 581 no votes. Also passed was Proposition II — the Farmingdale Youth Council Budget for fiscal year 2019-2020.

  • FHS's Lion Mascot Alayna Camisa to Receive Unsung Heroine Award

    Alayna Camisa—Farmingdale High School’s enthusiastic Dale the Lion Mascot for the past four years— has been named the female recipient of the Dr. James Tolle Unsung Heroine Award. The honor—which comes with a plaque and a check for a thousand dollars—will be bestowed at the Todd Heimer Administrators/Secretarial Luncheon on Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Westbury Manor.

  • 40 FHS Students Inducted into Business Honor Society

    Forty new students were inducted into the Farmingdale Chapter of the New York State Business & Marketing Honor Society. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Farmingdale High School.

  • Farmingdale Students Explore Sagamore Hill

    On Saturday, May 11th, kindergarten students from Ms. Lauren McKnight’s class at Northside Elementary School and third graders from Mrs. Kathleen Sokolowski’s class at Saltzman East Memorial Elementary School traveled to Sagamore Hill in Oyster Bay to write, sketch, and explore nature.

  • Howitt Middle School Hosts District Art Show

    The Farmingdale School District’s annual District Art Show was held May 14, 2019 at Weldon E. Howitt Middle School. Open to the public, it featured artwork from all six schools in a variety of mediums, including: oil, sculpture, mixed media, drawing, watercolor, fashion, and photography.

  • Dalers Go Green!

    An environment club has taken root at Woodward Parkway Elementary School. On Tuesday afternoons, students from the high school have been meeting with K-3 students from Ms. Monahan’s class and Ms. Breuer’s class to teach them about hydroponic gardening.

  • 28 FHS Students Inducted into French Honor Society

    The Farmingdale High School French Honor Society Induction and Senior Recognition Ceremony was held Tuesday, May 7th at Farmingdale High School. Twenty-eight new members (grades 9-12) were inducted, and twenty-eight seniors who have tackled the challenge of French 5— a college level course—were presented with the French Honor Society blue-white-red tassel.

  • Ten Consecutive Years of Scholar Athlete Status for Varsity Teams at Farmingdale High School

    For the 30th consecutive season—marking ten years— all Farmingdale High School varsity teams have achieved scholar athlete status! The spring teams include 321 students, participating in the sports of: boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse, baseball, softball, boys spring track, girls spring track, boys tennis, and badminton.
