A student leans over a handwritten page, carefully adding the final sentence to a story months in the making. This scene was at the heart of the recent Publisher Party at Albany Avenue Elementary School. During this event, members of the Creative Writing Club celebrated the completion of their original books. Students spent the session reading the work of their peers, exchanging positive feedback, and honoring the creative growth of every club member.

The Creative Writing Club provides a dedicated space for 4th and 5th-grade students to explore the power of the written word. Led by teacher Karly Walch and teacher Jaclyn Signorelli, the group supports students as they transform initial ideas into finished narratives. Through guided lessons and structured writing time, participants build essential skills in storytelling, organization, and self-expression.

These young authors are already looking forward to their next chapters as they continue to find their voices and sharpen their craft for the 2026-2027 school year.
