A Daler Halloween!

The inclement weather on Halloween did nothing to deter students from having a franken-tastic time at the traditional Senior Halloween Parade from Farmingdale High School to Woodward Parkway Elementary School. As always, the costumes were funny, creative, and boo-tiful.

The seniors began the day with a PTA-sponsored breakfast in the cafeteria, followed by a costume contest. Then, hundreds of spirited seniors marched down the resident-lined parade route to arrive at the elementary school, where young students and parents awaited their arrival. Leading the parade was Principal Dr. Samuel Thompson dressed as the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz. Assistant Principal Jed Herman dressed as the Scarecrow.

Woodward Parkway Principal Patrick Klocek—dressed as Harry Potter—and Assistant Principal Jennifer DeHayes—also in Hogwarts attire— had the elementary school band cued up to play “Ghostbusters” They led the seniors around the first bus loop; kindergarten and first grade students joined in for the second loop. Many children were thrilled to get high fives from their favorite costumed characters.

Halloween parades were held in all of the district’s elementary schools, and costumes were encouraged in the middle school.
