Farmingdale Students Create Winning Posters for the New York Association for Pupil Transportation

Nine students from Farmingdale School District placed in the top three in three divisions of the Nassau County Chapter of the New York Association for Pupil Transportation’s (NYAPT) School Bus Safety Poster Contest.

Grades K-2

First Place – Joshua Marino – Albany Avenue

Second Place – Sophia Arias Ochoa – Northside

Third Place – Emma Kropp – Albany Avenue

 

Grades 3-5

First Place – Emma Savino – Woodward Parkway

Second Place – Daniel Hilton – Northside

Third Place – Emma Kropp – Albany Avenue

 

Grades 6-8

First Place – Rachel Sirico – Howitt Middle School

Second Place – Olivia Remusat – Howitt Middle School

Third Place – Emily Rienecker – Howitt Middle School

 

Students were instructed to create posters that communicated the theme: My School Bus, The Safest Form of Student Transportation. The competition was open to any student enrolled in a public, parochial, or other private school in New York State.

First place winners received $100, second place winners were awarded $75, and third place winners were presented with $50. The artwork of all first-place winners is now en route to Albany, where they will be judged at the state level during the annual NYAPT conference.
