Farmingdale High Schools’ WLAX Team Competes at Shootout for Soldiers Tournament
The Farmingdale High School Girls’ Lacrosse Team played against Island Trees High School in the Shootout for Soldiers Long Island Tournament, held July 12-13, 2018 at the Field of Dreams in Massapequa. The Lady Dalers took the field just after sunrise on Friday morning—and while there’s no official scoring at this tournament, the senior players were able to confirm that the Farmingdale team was victorious. Collectively, the players raised an impressive $1,212 to donate to the worthy nonprofit organization.
“We are so proud that this group continues to give back, especially to our veterans. Our incoming seniors were particularly excited to participate,” said interim parent-coordinator, Regina Mott.
The Shootout for Soldiers mission is to use lacrosse as a platform to support American veterans and foster community engagement.
