12 FHS Student Artists Display Work at 2019 All-County Art Exhibition
A dozen student artists from Farmingdale High School attended the 2019 All-County Art Exhibition—held recently at Farmingdale State College. The exhibit honored more than 1,200 K-12 students who demonstrated excellence in a variety of two-dimensional visual art forms including drawing, painting, printmaking, computer graphics, and photography.
Senior Bernard Raifer was presented with the Art Supervisors Association Scholarship at a special ceremony preceding the opening of the Exhibit. This fall, he will attend Adelphi University and intends to major in Graphic Design.
Senior Jessica Mannhaupt was presented the Art Supervisors Association Leadership award. Jessica is a leader in a variety of clubs, most notably, president of the Art Honor Society and lead designer in Playcrafters.
Student entries are selected by art educators and are limited to a maximum of three pieces of artwork from each teacher. This year, over four hundred art educators from more than two hundred schools in fifty Nassau County school districts submitted student artwork for this prestigious exhibit.
The Art Supervisors Association provides a venue for the community to have an opportunity to appreciate the creativity, imagination, and skill that is produced by a fundamental, innovative, and vibrant K-12 sequential visual arts education.
