New Academic Wall Unveiled at Farmingdale High School
A new academic wall for valedictorian and salutatorian photographs was unveiled on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Farmingdale High School. Class of 2019 Valedictorian Kunj Patel and Salutatorian Jessica Finkel performed the ribbon cutting during a small ceremony attended by Superintendent Paul Defendini, Principal Dr. Samuel Thompson, Assistant Principals Jed Herman and Arlene Martinez, and guidance counselors Jacqueline Verre and Cara-Lynn Molina. The new wall—built by FHS woodworking students—is located near the entrance to the Commons. It became necessary when the previous one reached capacity.
“Congratulations to both Jessica and Kunj for their exceptional academic accomplishments and for being the first to grace our new valedictorians and salutatorians wall,” said Dr. Thompson. “We look forward to watching them lead the Class of 2019 across the stage at our graduation ceremony this June!”
Kunj attended Woodward Parkway Elementary School and Weldon E. Howitt Middle School. He will graduate Farmingdale High School with a grade point average of 105.069.
