Students in the Farmingdale Youth Council Summer Program performed an instrumental music concert last Thursday at Weldon E. Howitt Middle. The performances were given by students in grades 5-12 who are currently enrolled in the Farmingdale Music Program, and who attended a three-week music program at the middle school preceding the concert.
The concert included two bands and three orchestra ensembles— from beginner to advanced levels— that played diverse and challenging music. “This is always a wonderful experience for our students as they get to continue to grow their musical skills and enjoy playing their instruments with their peers and new friends. It’s amazing how much repertoire can be learned in such a short period of time and be performed so beautifully,” said Director of Fine Arts, Mrs. Rose Marvel. “I couldn’t be prouder of the staff, children, and the program!”
