Farmingdale Unites for an Unforgettable 2026 Homecoming

Don Snyder Stadium erupted with community spirit on Friday, October 9, 2026, as the Farmingdale High School Varsity Football Team secured a decisive Homecoming victory over Freeport High School. Students, alumni, and families filled the stands to celebrate the marquee event of the 2026-2027 school year, bringing together the entire community for an evening of athletic tradition and school pride.
The Friday festivities began during lunch periods with student mini-fairs, followed by an energetic 5:00 p.m. pep rally in the high school gymnasium, led by Principal Jed Herman. Loud cheers filled the facility as performance groups, including the Pep Band, Drumline, Junior Varsity Cheerleaders, Varsity Cheerleaders, Dalerettes, and Steppin' Dalers, showcased their talents alongside student-athletes.
During halftime, the field became a heartfelt tribute and reflection. The Farmingdale High School Marching Band, Cheerleaders, Daler Guard, and Dalerettes took center stage for a deeply moving performance. Highlighted by a musical selection featuring some of their favorite songs, the Marching Band delivered a poignant tribute honoring the memory of Gina Pellettiere and Beatrice “Bea” Ferrari, two extraordinary women whose warmth, service, and spirit forever embody the Daler way of life.
The victory capped off an enthusiastic Spirit Week featuring daily dress-up themes, including That 70's Day, Back to the 80's, Rock the 90's, Childhood Core, and a district-wide Daler Gear day. On Friday, students and staff proudly wore the official commemorative Homecoming t-shirt honoring Coach Krumenacker's 34-year "Tradition of Excellence" and final season. High school student leaders also visited the district's elementary schools to host mini pep rallies, sharing inspiring lessons on sportsmanship, academics, and friendship.
“Homecoming represents the beating heart of our community,” said Principal Jed Herman. “Seeing generations of Dalers stand together to honor our traditions, support our students, and remember those who shaped our culture reflects everything that makes Farmingdale so special.”
