Farmingdale Senior Earns New York State Assembly Distinction

Farmingdale High School senior Madeline Ortiz was recently named the youngest-ever honoree for the New York State Assembly's Women of Distinction. This historic recognition ties directly to her major achievement earlier this year, when she earned her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout can earn. Her impactful Gold Award project, titled "One Strap Can Save a Life," successfully advocated for stronger seat belt policies and state law.
