  • New Chromebooks for Farmingdale School District Students

    Approximately two thousand new Chromebooks are in the process of being distributed to select grades in the Farmingdale School District for the 2018-19 school year. Grades 10-12 were given the opportunity to pick up their computers prior to the start of classes, and all elementary students (grades 3-4) will receive their Chromebooks during the first week of school.

    Farmingdale School District held a three-day New Teacher Institute at Howitt Middle School this past week to welcome fifteen newly-appointed teachers to the district.

  • Two Assistant Principals at Farmingdale Elementary Schools Receive Doctorate Degrees

    Farmingdale School District has two more doctors in the house. Jennifer DeHayes—Assistant Principal at Woodward Parkway Elementary School— and Christopher Peterson—Assistant Principal of Northside Elementary School—have both received their Doctorate Degrees of Education in Administrative and Instructional Leadership from St. John’s University. After two-and-a-half years of coursework, and many months spent writing their dissertations, they received their diplomas during the graduation ceremony, held May 15, 2018.

  • Farmingdale Students Create Winning Posters for the New York Association for Pupil Transportation

    Nine students from Farmingdale School District placed in the top three in three divisions of the Nassau County Chapter of the New York Association for Pupil Transportation’s (NYAPT) School Bus Safety Poster Contest.

    Farmingdale’s four elementary schools—Albany Avenue, Northside, Saltzman East Memorial, and Woodward Parkway—all held moving up ceremonies for their fifth-grade class during the last week of the 2017-2018 school year.

  • Farmingdale Fifth-Graders Honored with Elementary Awards

    It was a big week for the fifth-grade students at Farmingdale’s four elementary schools. Albany Avenue, Northside, Saltzman East Memorial, and Woodward Parkway all hosted their annual 5th grade award ceremonies to acknowledge students who excelled in academics, sports, music, art, and community service during the 2017-2018 school year.

  • Class of 2018 Senior Walk

    Over 400 Farmingdale High School seniors—dressed in their green and white graduation gowns—returned to their elementary schools for the Districts’ second annual Senior Walk. The nostalgic procession took place at all four Farmingdale elementary schools— Albany Avenue, Northside, Saltzman East Memorial, and Woodward Parkway.
